THE POSITION

The person selected for this "at-will", licensed administrative position will serve as an Academic Manager in the Instruction Unit.  The person selected for this position is directly responsible to the designated Associate Superintendent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as a line administrator to provide leadership to and supervision of K-12 principals in meeting the expectations of the Clark County School District and the area.
  2. Assist and provide instructional leadership to principals and other school administrators in raising student achievement and in reducing the achievement gap.
  3. Provide leadership to principals in order to meet and/or exceed the federal and state requirements of No Child Left Behind, as well as assisting designated schools in meeting the requirements of Title I, special education, and second language students.
  4. Participate with the associate superintendent, in the screening and interviewing process, to identify candidates for selection as school or area administrators.
  5. Participate in the development and implementation of professional staff development for area administrators.  Maintain related data and records to provide reports to meet federal/state/District/area accountability requirements. 
  6. Assist principals with the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of School Improvement Plans (SIP) and Technical Assistance Plans; assist principals with the implementation of the Instructional Data Management System (IDMS).
  7. Serve as a liaison with other departments/divisions, and communicate regularly to ensure maximum efficiency in the delivery of services to area schools.
  8. Participate in area-level differentiated budget development to address area needs and goals, which are aligned with the Quality Assurance Framework.
  9. Promote parent participation and provide responses to address parent/community issues.
  10. Attend Board of School Trustees’ meetings, Community Education Advisory Board (CEAB) meetings, and other meetings, as required.
  11. Perform other duties related to the position, as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Master’s degree.
  2. Hold or be able to acquire Nevada school administrative endorsement.
  3. Currently serving as a licensed administrator in the Clark County School District at Range 41 or higher.
  4. Have previously demonstrated at least five (5) years of successful licensed teaching experience including at least two (2) years as a contracted administrator in an accredited K-12 public or private school or including at least two (2) years experience as a contracted administrator in a related position.
  5. Present or previous successful experience as a school principal or assistant principal.
  6. Present or previous experience with school accountability in terms of data analysis leading to systemic school improvement planning.
  7. Successful performance in the position held at the time of application.

SALARY

This is a twelve-month "at-will" position with placement at Range 46 ($89,304-$119,604) of the Unified Administrative Salary Schedule.  Placement will be made in accordance with Clark County School District Administrative Regulation 4291 (Placement and Advancement on the Administrative Salary Schedule).

TERMS:  The position is an "at-will" position in accordance with the Agreement negotiated between the Clark County School District and the Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-Technical Employees.  The person selected for the position serves at the will of the superintendent and may be reassigned in accordance with Article 16 of the Negotiated Agreement.
